This winter, the palette is oxidized to warm up the Moods. The collections of designers, creators and publishers, showed these nice shades on the last shows as Maison&Objet and Paris Deco Off. A palette colored with shades of bronze, notes of green (olive and cypress) and touches of beige more mineral.
A desire for eclecticism and exoticism that can be found in the color charts of the latest architecture studios KOI Colour Studio and AFTER BACH as well as in the repertoire of Madura, a French house of decoration and household linen that is inspired by “elsewhere”. Decoding in colors and softness.

Interiors which travel
Asceticism has given way to eclecticism and multiculturalism in the interiors of the moment: chalet 1550; Soho House Stockholm; Hammerhai Bar; Avenue Montaigne apartment; rue de Levis. If each of these addresses is unique, they all have in common the crossing of influences, the mixing of voluptuous materials and precious details with that ever-tanning patina that invites us to an otherworldly, slightly old-fashioned place.
A journey between traditions, influences and colors that particularly resonates in Madura’s repertoire. Founded in 1971 by Agnès and Michel Bourgeois, then reinvented by Vincent Rey in 2012, the French home decoration and linen house draws inspiration from “elsewhere” to invoke singular and plural worlds indoors. A passion for materials, attention to detail and a love of craftsmanship are at the heart of its two new collections in the suave shades of Carlina & Winter light.
A veil of softness in textile collections
Creations turned towards tradition
In design and decorative arts, the palette is brilliantly embodied by Studio Giancarlo Valle. His soft, refined take on folk cultures permeates his latest collection with Swedish rug publisher Nordic Knots. New Zealand wool fibers flirt with the designer’s brassy tones for a half-tone journey between Scandinavian folklore and Guatemalan traditions.
The new golden age of bronze
From the ancestral know-how of Ouagadougou’s lost wax where Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance’s creations came to life for Maison Intègre, to brass fixtures evoking Triode’s stage lighting equipment, golden shades were also in the spotlight in the latest collections of designers present at Maison&Objet 2023.
Sabine Marcelis x Ikea : sunset in every room
Another collaboration that will seduce for its color palette this season: the VARMBLIXT collection by Sabine Marcelis x Ikea. For the Swedish brand, the Dutch designer signed a series of lights, rugs, glassware and candy boxes that explore the surprising and emotional effects of light through a sunset palette. The result: nature invites itself into every room.
